This is a vintage wool felt fedora made by the F&M Hat Co. of Denver, PA, under their “Effanem” brand name - F&M has been incorporated since 1912.  The interior top is printed with “Genuine Effanem 100% Wool Crusher Made in U.S.A. W.P.L. 4384”.  I think that the hat dates to the 1960s.  It is made in an attractive medium brown tone and has a great looking shape.  It  is sized as a 7 3/8 - it measures 23” around the sweatband and 7” by 8” across the opening.  The brim measures 2 1/4” in width - the crown measures 3 1/4” in height.  The hat is in very good condition - no pronounced wear and has held its shape.  This is a nice quality hat for a wool felt - nice form, great looking hat!
